We should already haves plans made for catching
the immense amount of snow runoff expected beforeMemorial Day weekend. We could have a reservoir
with, roughly, 10,000 gallons of water to utilize
throughout the summer months. This could be
a fresh water supply, irrigation, and fishing hole
as well.
Of course we would have to filter and
treat the liquid before using it for bathing or
drinking purposes, but could grow fish to
harvest that would aide in keeping the
new, Lake HITW, a balanced ecosystem.
The firepit would be transfered to a fire-
proof raft left on anchor to still gather
together as we all love to do for days.
We would, also, have to build our future
cabins higher off the ground than originally
planned - like 10 feet? BUT - we could fish
off of our porches!

Your concept does have merit, as well as solve a few problems. The constrution of a earthen damm at the entrance to the bowl would likely require about the same amount of gravel that needs to be hauled in to level and improve drainage. The fire pit could be moved to the top of estrogern ridge. Instead of cabins, it would be perfect for houseboats, when the lake was dry you would have a cabin, flood stage a house boat. Deserves some serious consideration. Loved the fishng video, never seen anything like that. They must have been some type of perch. At the conclusion, it showed several other videos that were available, clicked on a second fishing one, tarpn fishing in Florida. Some great shots, that is still one fish that is on my "bucket list" that I want to catch.
Heath, too - the tarpon. He's a lot closer than us.
House BOATS! I might have enough cardboard left from some crazy race...
Now I like that idea...a lake...hmmm....
Did you hear the news today of the lady who had a sting ray fly up out of the water and smack her in the head.
Today is Easter and wanted to let Shana know I am craving a peep-slow cooked over an open fire....
