New Additions To HITW

For those that have not had the opportunity to follow the progress or enjoy the opportunity of participating in the prior planing and preparation for the Memorial Day weekend of the annual Clan Rendezvous, I have kept a photo journal.
The Gazebo received a fresh touch up coat of paint today, thanks to Lady Eagle. Having had the responsibility over the past four years of watching over the "little ones", Dutch has earned a rightful place and is now designated as HITW Guardian of the Little Ones. You might note the new kitchen area that was erected last weekend with the help of the She Wolf and Papa Bear.

This the new look of the Widow's Walk or Bell Tower of the Gazebo. You can just see the new security device, the Alarm Bell which can also be used for banging when meals are served, announcement of guests, the Grand Poopah reserves the right to "ring that bell anytime I want". Although you cannot see it it n the picture, a "wind warning system" has also been installed which is tied in in with the new King Salmon weather vane. If you hear the alarm going off, all you need to do is duck your head out and look up to see which direction the wind is coming out of. It will help in your decision on which side of the fire pit you may want to set.

Lady Eagle spent the day with the paint brush in her hand, the Duck House got a new paint job and looks real good in the natural earthy two tone wood look.

When not helping me cut firewood and remodeling the kitchen, the Lady Buff has been busy landscaping and laying a new natural rock patio. Bull Buffy had best be careful when going home after spending a few hours around the fire pit an in the dark. Mac has been a valuable partner in the project since he was responsible for pulling the wagon.

Papa Bear and the Eagle are meeting at 0430 on Wednesday morning to particpate in the first Wednesday King Salmon opener of the Anchor River since the 1960's. A historical day and a great opportunity to pick a a fresh King Salmon, or course they will all be releashed unharmed and free to go do whatsalmon do. Perhaps, there will be one bleeder to allow a fesh salmon steak dinner. Damm, it is hard to live on the Anchor River. So much distraction from work and napping. Daily fish counts are on the rise, water condiotns have improved and eggs look like they were just cured, tide is perfect, no one will be fishing, thngs are really tough!

Then you should, really, have no time to destroy good furniture.

I really do apologize for that desrtuction, but like you, I lerarned a long time ago that when a "female" tells you something to do - just do it, do not argue, do not attempt to use judgement or common sense, you just follow their demands and it makes life much easier. I really thought your furniture had "rustic potential". Noty even going to tell you what she had planned for hte pieces tonight, I suggsted she save them and at least allow you the privledge of enjoyin gtheir warmth - but again I am not one ot argue, especailly this early into the long weekend!

Some of that dimensional spruce could be handy for a lot of projects. We still need to rebuild the Moose deck. You haven't cut it all up yet...have you?

I had to cut up all the lumber to stock the fire pit and to allow the ground to dry in front of the Bar Den, I mean Bear Den. Not to worry, Lady Buff found two 2x3 almost 2x4, 16 feet long and reserved them for you, I do not know if if was out of the kindness of her heart and looking out for you or did not want to stack anymore wood. Your guess.
