Anchor River Awakens For The New Season

First Flowers at the HITW

On Easter Sunday, the Anchor River broke free from the winter bondage of ice and snow. Spring has sprung and so the fish will arrive and the flowers will not have to break through the snow. It is time to make some spring and summer plans. If you are traveling to the HITW, be advised that you cannot get there from Anchor Point. Between April 16th and 22nd, the Anchor River Bridge will be closed, again! It is beginning to be a "spring ritual" for the folks at Alaska DOT.

Ice gone? River high and muddy? Must be spring!! Those irisis are beautiful...funny how puple always comes out first...purple silk I do believe. Next we should see a boot...and a hammer tree right? and maybe a fire pit? If they keep up working on that bridge they are going to ruin it!!! That bridge is older than most who work on it...they better be respecting their elders!!!

R you sure those pictures are this years??? Seems a little early for such a green lawn and it also seems I saw that same water pattern a few years ago in October...

A picture is worth 1,000 words and prohibits prattling.
